VenScope ("we", "us", or "our") is operated as an independent project. This policy explains what data we collect when you use venscope.com and how we use it. We keep this simple because we do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we are not in the business of tracking you.
Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand which cities people compare, which features get used, and where users drop off. This includes your approximate location (country/city level), device type, browser, pages visited, and session duration. Google Analytics uses cookies to track sessions across visits. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Account creation (optional)
If you create an account to save comparisons or access other features, we collect your email address and store it securely via Supabase. We do not collect payment information. We do not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, phone number, home address, or any financial information. The income and household inputs you enter in the tool are used only to calculate your personalized results and are not stored or linked to your identity unless you are signed in and explicitly save a comparison.
We use cookies for two purposes: session management (keeping you signed in) and Google Analytics (usage tracking). We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to third parties. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly without them.
Account data is stored securely via Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Our application is hosted on Netlify. Both providers have their own privacy policies which govern how they handle infrastructure-level data.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at venscope.official@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
VenScope is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of VenScope after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
